Product Information
Description
Softly tailored in Jura Stag fabric, the Melrose Midi Sofa brings a lighter, more understated mood to Tetrad’s classic Chesterfield-inspired shape. Deep buttoning runs through the back and arms, giving the sofa its quilted depth, while the rolled scroll arms and studded trim add a formal edge without making the piece feel heavy.
Ruched detailing along the base gives the front profile texture and movement, balancing the generous seat with a more decorative finish. Dark turned legs and castors add a traditional footing, particularly suited to period rooms, country homes and layered interiors with warm woods, patterned rugs or antique pieces.
As the midi size within the Melrose family, it offers proper three-seat comfort with a more measured footprint than the grand sofa. The Jura Stag palette also makes it one of the more versatile Melrose choices, pairing well with rich accent cushions, brown leather, aged oak, bronze lighting and soft neutral schemes.

FAQ's
How does the Melrose Midi Sofa differ from the Melrose Grand Sofa?
The Midi gives the same buttoned Melrose character in a more measured three-seat scale. It suits rooms where the grand sofa may feel too imposing, while still keeping the scroll arms, ruched base and traditional castor-legged profile.
What kind of room does the Jura Stag fabric suit best?
Jura Stag works especially well in calm, layered interiors where texture matters more than bold colour. Its soft neutral tone pairs beautifully with warm timber, aged leather, patterned cushions and classic country-style schemes.
Does the deep buttoning make the sofa feel very formal?
The buttoning gives the Melrose its Chesterfield influence, but the Jura Stag fabric softens the overall look. It feels refined rather than severe, particularly when styled with relaxed scatter cushions or natural textures.
Is the Melrose Midi a good choice for a period property?
Yes, the scroll arms, stud trim, turned legs and castors all sit comfortably in period interiors. It has enough traditional detail for drawing rooms and older homes, without needing a very formal decorative scheme around it.
What colours pair well with Jura Stag upholstery?
Warm browns, rust, olive, charcoal, oatmeal and muted gold all work well with Jura Stag. Richer cushions can add contrast, while lighter neutrals keep the sofa feeling calm and elegant.
Does the ruched base change the look of the sofa?
The ruched base adds softness and texture to the front of the sofa, giving it more character than a plain upholstered apron. It also helps balance the deep buttoning and rolled arms with a more decorative lower edge.
Can this sofa be paired with other Tetrad Melrose pieces?
Yes, it can sit alongside other Melrose pieces for a coordinated room, or be used as the main sofa with a contrasting chair or footstool. Pairing it with a different fabric or leather accent can keep the room from feeling too matched.
Is the Melrose Midi more traditional or contemporary?
Its shape is traditional, with clear Chesterfield influences, but the Jura Stag fabric gives it a softer and more liveable feel. It works best in classic, country, transitional and richly layered interiors rather than ultra-minimal schemes.
