Recycling
Our Approach To Recycling
At Shackletons, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously and continue to review how packaging and recycling are handled across the business. Working in partnership with the Senator Group, we aim to reduce waste and improve how materials are reused and recycled wherever possible.
In 2022 alone, we recycled 6,490kg of packaging, saving an estimated 6,444kg of CO₂ emissions. This achievement highlights our ongoing commitment to sustainable practices, and we are determined to improve on these results year after year.
What We Recycle
We recycle a wide range of packaging materials, with a particular focus on cardboard, plastic and polystyrene. In 2022, this included 2,794kg of cardboard, 2,184kg of plastic and 1,125kg of polystyrene.
Keeping these materials out of landfill and within recycling streams helps reduce waste and supports a more responsible approach to packaging.
Packaging and Delivery
When you choose our White Glove Delivery Service, packaging is unpacked during delivery so your order can be assembled efficiently in your home. To help everything run smoothly, please ensure there is clear access and that the area where your furniture will be placed is ready in advance.
Furniture Removal Guidance
Our couriers are fully insured to deliver and assemble the furniture you purchase from us, but they are not permitted to move or remove existing furniture.
If you need to clear space before delivery, local charities may be able to help. Organisations such as the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK often offer furniture collection services, which can be a practical way to prepare your home while supporting worthwhile causes.
