Product Information
Description
A strong frame gives this chair its identity, but the materials stop it feeling cold. Brown leather adds warmth and depth across the seat and back cushions, while the black metal structure keeps the overall silhouette lean and purposeful. Wooden armrests soften that contrast and bring in a more natural furniture feel, which helps the design sit comfortably in both industrial and more lived-in interiors.
The shape is what makes it feel different from a more upright occasional chair. A reclined back and longer seat profile create a more relaxed sitting position, so it reads as a proper lounge chair rather than just an accent piece. The cushioning looks generous without becoming bulky, and the open frame keeps the chair visually lighter than a fully upholstered alternative.
This is the sort of piece that works best when given a little room to breathe. It suits reading corners, living spaces and bedrooms where one chair needs to add structure as well as comfort. Vintage Sofa Company has combined leather, metal and wood in a way that feels practical as well as distinctive, with enough character to stand out but a simple enough form to stay versatile.

FAQ's
What gives the Huntingdon Studio Chair its industrial look?
The industrial feel comes mainly from the black metal frame and exposed structure. The leather cushions and wooden armrests soften that look, so it feels more refined and usable in a home rather than overly raw.
Is this chair designed more for lounging than upright sitting?
Yes. The reclined back and deeper seat give it a more relaxed posture than a standard accent or dining-style chair. It is better suited to reading, unwinding and longer periods of sitting than quick, upright use.
What do the wooden armrests add to the design?
They add warmth and help break up the metal frame visually. They also make the chair feel more furniture-led and less stark, which is useful if you want an industrial piece that still sits comfortably in a softer interior.
Does the open metal frame make the chair feel lighter in the room?
It does. A fully upholstered lounge chair can look visually heavy, but the open frame keeps more space around the chair, which helps it feel less bulky and easier to place.
How does this differ from a traditional leather armchair?
It feels leaner and more architectural. A traditional leather armchair usually has a fuller frame and a heavier silhouette, while the Huntingdon relies on exposed metal, a reclined angle and simpler lines to create its character.
Is this a chair that works best on its own or with a matching footstool?
It can work either way. On its own, it has enough presence to anchor a reading corner or bedroom space. With a matching stool, it becomes more of a dedicated lounging set.
What sort of interiors suit this chair best?
It works especially well in industrial, contemporary, mid-century and mixed-material interiors. It also suits calmer neutral rooms that need one stronger piece with darker structure and richer texture.
Does this chair need any assembly when it arrives?
No. The current product details list the Huntingdon Studio Chair as requiring no assembly, so it should arrive ready to place.
