Product Information
Description
A softer alternative to darker checked upholstery, the Jura Stag Harris Tweed brings a calm, natural warmth to the Arbroath Midi Sofa. The fabric has a muted oatmeal tone with the tactile depth expected from genuine Harris Tweed, giving the sofa a quietly luxurious look rather than a bold statement pattern.
Deep button tufting across the back creates the classic Arbroath character, while the rolled arms and studded detailing add definition without making the sofa feel overly formal. The midi size is particularly useful for rooms where a grand sofa may dominate, but where a compact two-seater would feel too small. It offers a proper lounging presence while keeping the silhouette balanced and easy to place.
Dark turned feet ground the lighter tweed beautifully, giving the piece a more traditional finish and helping it sit comfortably with antique wood, oak flooring, painted cabinetry or layered neutral schemes. Use it as the main sofa in a smaller sitting room, a refined addition to a snug, or a statement seating piece in a bedroom or reading space.

FAQ's
How does the Jura Stag Harris Tweed affect the look of this sofa?
Jura Stag gives the Arbroath Midi Sofa a softer, lighter feel than darker tweeds or check fabrics. Its neutral woven tone works especially well in calm living rooms, period homes and interiors built around natural textures.
Is the midi size better than the grand sofa for smaller rooms?
The midi size is better suited to rooms where the grand sofa may feel too dominant. It still has the depth, rolled arms and button-tufted character of the Arbroath design, but in a more balanced format for snug spaces, lounges and secondary sitting rooms.
What makes the Arbroath shape different from a plain fabric sofa?
The Arbroath has a much more sculpted, traditional profile, with a button-tufted back, scrolled arms, stud detailing and turned wooden feet. These details give it more presence and heritage character than a simpler upholstered sofa.
Will the neutral tweed work with darker furniture?
Yes, the Jura Stag fabric pairs particularly well with darker wood because the turned feet already bring that richer tone into the design. It can soften mahogany, walnut or dark oak furniture without looking too pale or disconnected.
Is this sofa more formal or relaxed?
It sits between the two. The buttoning, studs and rolled arms give it a polished traditional look, while the soft tweed and midi proportions stop it feeling stiff or overly grand.
What kind of room suits this sofa best?
It works well in sitting rooms, snug rooms, studies, bedrooms and period-style interiors where texture and shape matter. The lighter tweed also makes it useful for rooms that need heritage character without a heavy colour palette.
How does the button tufting change the comfort and appearance?
The deep buttoning gives the back a more shaped, cushioned look and creates the distinctive Arbroath texture. Visually, it adds depth and shadow, helping the sofa feel crafted and substantial rather than flat or plain.
Is this a good choice if I want a Harris Tweed sofa without a bold pattern?
Yes, Jura Stag is a strong option for buyers who like the quality and provenance of Harris Tweed but prefer a quieter fabric. It brings texture and authenticity without the stronger visual impact of tartan or check upholstery.
