Product Information
Description
Sculptural form is what sets this chair apart. The smooth curved back wraps the seat in one continuous line, while the anthracite fabric gives the overall shape a more grounded, refined look than a lighter upholstery would. That balance helps it feel design-led without becoming overpowering.
The double-stepped front base is a key part of its identity. Rather than sitting on a conventional legged frame, the chair has a more architectural silhouette that gives it real presence from every angle. Paired with the softened curve of the back, it creates a retro-inspired look that still feels relevant in a modern setting.
Fabric and wood construction keep the design practical as well as distinctive, and the neutral grey tone makes it easy to place alongside both cleaner contemporary pieces and more layered interiors. With no assembly required, it is straightforward to position and use straight away, and the choice of multiple colours makes the design easy to carry across different room schemes.

FAQ's
What gives the Asko Armchair its retro look?
Its retro character comes from the rounded back and the unusual double-stepped front base. Together they give it a softer, sculptural outline that feels more considered than a standard armchair shape.
How does the anthracite upholstery change the feel of the design?
Anthracite gives the chair a more grounded, contemporary feel. It keeps the retro shape looking refined rather than overly decorative, which makes it easier to use in a wider range of interiors.
What kind of room is the Asko Armchair best suited to?
It works best in spaces where one distinctive chair can add shape and character without needing a full matching suite around it. Living rooms, reading corners, bedrooms and more styled corners of the home all suit this design well.
What makes the double-stepped front base distinctive?
It gives the chair a more architectural front profile and helps it stand apart from more conventional armchairs. Instead of relying on exposed legs for definition, the base becomes part of the overall silhouette.
How does the anthracite finish change the mood of the Asko design compared with a lighter colour?
Anthracite gives the chair a more grounded, tailored feel. It makes the curved shape and stepped base look more refined and architectural, so the design feels statement-led without becoming too decorative.
Is anthracite a good choice if I want a statement chair without using a bold colour?
Yes. The colour gives the chair presence without making it loud. It allows the form to do more of the visual work, which is useful if you want something distinctive but still easy to live with.
Is the Asko Armchair available in other colours?
Yes, this design is available in multiple colours. That makes it easier to choose the same shape in a finish that better suits your room.
Does the stepped base make the chair feel more substantial than a standard occasional chair?
Yes, it gives the chair a stronger visual weight and a more sculptural presence. That base is a big part of what makes the design feel different from a more typical armchair with exposed legs.
