Product Information
Description
Rich leather changes the mood of the Arbroath shape completely, giving this petit sofa a club-like depth and a more polished, traditional feel. The dark brown hide highlights the button tufting across the back and arms, creating shadow, texture and natural variation that will become more characterful with use.
Compact in scale but not modest in presence, this two-seat Arbroath is well suited to rooms where a full grand sofa would feel too large. It works beautifully in a study, snug, library-style living room or fireside setting, where the darker leather, rolled arms and studded edges can bring structure and warmth without overwhelming the room.
The turned wooden feet and scrolled arms reinforce the Chesterfield influence, while the leather seat gives a smoother contrast against the deeply buttoned back. Pair it with patterned rugs, aged timber, wool throws or neutral upholstery to create a layered interior with a strong heritage feel.

FAQ's
How does the dark brown hide change the look of the Arbroath Petit Sofa?
Dark brown hide gives the Arbroath Petit Sofa a richer, more traditional feel than the Jura Stag Harris Tweed styles. It suits interiors where you want depth, polish and classic Chesterfield character rather than a lighter woven texture.
Is this sofa a good choice for smaller rooms?
Yes, the petit size is made for spaces where the Arbroath shape is wanted without the scale of a larger sofa. It still has strong visual presence, but the two-seat format makes it easier to place in snugs, studies, smaller living rooms and bedrooms.
What makes this different from a plain leather sofa?
The deep button tufting, scrolled arms, stud detailing and turned feet give it a much more decorative, heritage-led profile. A plain leather sofa will usually feel cleaner and simpler, while this piece has a stronger traditional Chesterfield influence.
Will the leather become more characterful over time?
Yes, natural hide develops more depth and variation with regular use. The dark brown tone is especially well suited to this, as small changes in sheen and texture add to the worn-in, traditional character of the sofa.
What interior styles work best with dark brown hide?
Dark brown hide works beautifully with period homes, country-house schemes, studies, libraries and rooms with timber, brass, wool or patterned rugs. It can also add weight and contrast to softer neutral interiors.
Does the buttoning make the sofa look formal?
The buttoned back and arms give the sofa a formal Chesterfield shape, but the compact size and leather seat help it feel usable rather than ceremonial. It is polished enough for a smart sitting room, yet comfortable enough for everyday use.
Is this better as a main sofa or an accent piece?
In a smaller room, it can work as the main sofa. In a larger space, it is better used as a characterful accent piece, especially opposite a larger sofa, beside a fireplace or in a reading corner.
What should I pair with this leather finish?
Wool cushions, woven throws, Persian-style rugs, aged wood and warm metallic accents all suit the dark brown hide. Lighter walls or neutral upholstery nearby can help balance the depth of the leather.
