Product Information
Description
Designed as a statement seat rather than part of a dining set, the Avena Egg Chair creates its own quiet spot in the garden. The tall rounded frame gives the chair its distinctive shape, with open wickerwork that feels decorative without looking heavy. Natural-toned cushioning softens the structure and makes the seat inviting for longer periods of use.
The raised leg design gives the chair a lighter stance, helping it sit comfortably among paving, planting, brickwork and timber. It works well as a standalone chair beside a coffee table, in a covered outdoor corner, or as a feature piece in a garden room or conservatory-style setting.
For everyday UK use, the frame is suited to outdoor living, but the cushions need more care. They are shower resistant rather than waterproof, so they should be brought inside during rain, damp weather and when not in use. A breathable outdoor furniture cover is also sensible if the chair will remain outside through unsettled weather.

FAQ's
Is the Avena Egg Chair a hanging chair?
No, this is a freestanding egg chair rather than a hanging swing chair. It gives the enclosed, cocoon-like feel of an egg chair while sitting on its own raised leg frame.
Is this chair suitable for reading outdoors?
Yes, the high rounded frame and deep cushioning make it well suited to reading, relaxing or sitting quietly in the garden. The enclosed shape offers more shelter and privacy than an open armchair.
Can the cushions be left outside overnight?
It is better to store the cushions indoors or somewhere dry when not in use. They are shower resistant only, so leaving them outside overnight in damp conditions may lead to staining or moisture damage.
Where would this egg chair work best in the garden?
It suits patios, terraces, paved corners, larger balconies and sheltered garden seating areas. Its tall shape also works well as a focal point near planting or against a wall.
How should the wicker frame be maintained?
Wipe the wicker with a soft cloth and mild soapy water, then allow it to dry fully. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools, as these can damage the woven finish.
Should the chair be covered in winter?
Yes, a breathable garden furniture cover is recommended if the chair is left outside during colder, wetter months. Storing it in a dry, sheltered place will offer better protection where space allows.
Does the enclosed shape make it feel bulky?
It has a taller profile than a standard garden chair, but the open wicker frame keeps the look lighter. It feels more like a feature seat than a heavy block of furniture.
