Product Information
Description
Sized for rooms that need more presence from the floor, the Gallery Direct Albany Tufted Tonal Rug 2000 x 2900mm helps larger layouts feel more complete. Its tonal abstract pattern brings quiet movement across the surface without turning into the main event, which makes it easier to place in living rooms and bedrooms where you want warmth and texture without visual clutter. The neutral palette keeps the overall look softer and more flexible, so it can sit comfortably with both lighter schemes and darker furniture.
What makes this size especially useful is the way it helps furniture feel better anchored. In a larger lounge, it gives a coffee table and seating area more definition. In a bedroom, it can bring a softer edge around the bed and make the room feel more finished overall. The wool mix adds a more substantial feel underfoot, while the hand-tufted finish gives the rug enough depth to feel considered rather than flat.

FAQ's
Is 2000 x 2900mm the right size for a larger living room?
Yes, this size is better suited to larger living rooms where a smaller rug could leave the seating area feeling disconnected. It gives the room more structure and helps the furniture feel more intentionally placed.
Will a 2000 x 2900mm rug make the room feel better finished?
Yes, this size is a strong option when you want a larger room to feel more complete rather than loosely arranged. It helps connect the seating area, softens open floor space and gives the room a more deliberate, pulled-together look.
Is this size too large for a standard room?
It can be, depending on how much floor you want visible around the edges. This size is best for buyers who want the rug to have real presence in the room rather than act as a smaller accent.
Would this rug work in an open-plan space?
Yes, it is a sensible option for open-plan rooms where the rug needs to define a seating area more clearly. A larger rug can help separate the lounging space without relying on heavier furniture to do all the work.
Is this a good rug size for a bedroom?
Yes, particularly in bedrooms with a larger bed where a smaller rug might feel mean at the edges. It is a more convincing choice when you want softness underfoot to extend further into the room.
Is the lighter colour still practical for everyday living?
It is practical for everyday use, but it suits buyers who are realistic about caring for a lighter rug. The softer tonal pattern is more forgiving than a flat plain finish, but it will still benefit from careful upkeep in busier homes.
Would this rug still work if I change the room later on?
Yes, that is one of its strongest points. A neutral tonal rug is generally easier to carry through decorating changes than something with a stronger pattern or more directional colour.
Is this rug easy to maintain day to day?
It is better suited to buyers who are happy to look after it properly rather than treat it like a machine-washable rug. The care guidance is Do Not Wash / Do Not Bleach / Do Not Tumble Dry / Do Not Iron / Do Not Dry Clean / Spot Clean Only, so it is best maintained with regular care and spot cleaning.
