Product Information
Description
Rich timber colouring and a sweeping sleigh silhouette give the Antoinette King Size Bed a beautifully established feel. The curved headboard and footboard create the distinctive shape associated with classic French bedroom furniture, bringing softness and movement to a piece that still feels substantial.
The cherry finish adds warmth and depth, especially when styled with crisp white bedding, soft neutral throws, brass lighting or darker bedside furniture. It gives the bedroom a more layered and furnished appearance, without needing overly decorative styling around it.
The king size frame is well suited to master bedrooms where the bed is intended to anchor the whole scheme. Its curved profile feels more graceful than a square modern bed, while the deeper wood tone makes the room feel warmer and more complete.
Louis Philippe influence can be seen in the shaped silhouette and traditional proportions, though the overall look remains clean enough for both period homes and more updated interiors. It works beautifully with the wider Antoinette collection, but also pairs well with upholstered seating, patterned rugs and classic bedside lamps.
A slatted base supports the mattress while allowing airflow, helping combine traditional bedroom styling with practical everyday use.
Mattress not included. Slatted base included.

FAQ's
Does the king size bed feel more impressive than the double size?
Yes, the larger proportions give the sleigh shape more presence, particularly in a master bedroom. The curved headboard and footboard feel more balanced at king size, creating a stronger centrepiece for the room.
Would the cherry finish make a bedroom feel too dark?
The cherry tone is warm rather than heavy. Lighter bedding, pale walls and soft neutral fabrics help balance the deeper wood beautifully, giving the room richness without making it feel closed in.
Is this bed best for a traditional bedroom?
It naturally suits traditional and French inspired interiors, but it can also work well in transitional bedrooms where classic furniture is mixed with cleaner wall colours, modern lighting or simple textiles.
How does the sleigh shape change the feel of the room?
The curved headboard and footboard make the bed feel softer and more decorative than a straight framed design. It gives the room a more furnished, considered look without relying on extra ornament.
Would this bed work with existing bedside furniture?
Yes, particularly if the room already includes cherry, mahogany or darker wood tones. It can also sit well with painted or upholstered bedside pieces if the scheme includes warm lighting and softer fabrics.
Does the footboard make the bed feel enclosed?
The footboard gives the bed its classic sleigh profile, but the shape still feels open and elegant. It adds definition at the end of the bed without making the frame feel too boxed in.
What type of bedding suits this bed best?
Crisp white linen gives the cherry finish a fresh, hotel inspired contrast, while warm neutrals, quilted throws and textured cushions create a softer country house look.
Why choose a sleigh bed over a simpler wooden frame?
A sleigh bed brings more shape, depth and character to the room. The Antoinette feels like a statement furniture piece, whereas simpler wooden frames tend to sit more quietly in the background.
