Product Information
Description
Built as much for presence as for practicality, the Rub Off Leather Patchwork Banquette Footstool has a broader, more furniture-led look than a smaller occasional stool. Its low, generous shape gives the patchwork design room to stand out properly, with contrasting panels creating a layered finish that feels tactile, decorative and full of personality.
The rub-off leather is what gives this piece much of its appeal. Rather than reading as one flat colour, the surface has tonal shifts across each panel, which helps the leather feel richer and more expressive in the room. Shades of blue, green, burgundy, brown and tan work together to create a more layered look, while the buttoned top adds structure and definition across the design.
There is also a practical side to the design. Its substantial banquette form makes it useful as a proper footrest, but it also works well as an accent piece in front of seating, where the patchwork can add colour and depth to the room. Made by Vintage Sofa Company, each piece is bespoke, so the overall character stays true to the design shown while the exact patchwork composition remains individual.

FAQ's
What makes this footstool different from a standard upholstered footstool?
Its banquette shape and rub-off patchwork leather give it much more visual weight than a plain footstool. It feels closer to a decorative furniture piece, with enough presence to act as an accent as well as a practical footrest.
What materials are used in the patchwork design?
A richly coloured leather patchwork with shades of blue, green, burgundy, brown and tan work together to create a more layered look, while the buttoned back adds structure and definition across the design.
Will every footstool look exactly the same as the one shown?
No. Each one is bespoke, with its own material composition and character, so the overall style remains consistent but the exact patchwork arrangement will vary.
What do the leather buttons add to the design?
They give the top more depth and structure, while also introducing a richer contrast against the mixed fabrics. That detail helps the surface feel more finished and more in keeping with the footstool’s vintage-inspired look.
Does the studded detailing make it feel more traditional?
Yes, it pushes the design further towards a heritage furniture look. The studs define the outline neatly and balance the softer patchwork with a more formal, tailored edge.
Are the oak legs an important part of the overall look?
The legs ground the colour and texture above them, giving the footstool a sturdier, more classic appearance rather than letting it feel purely decorative.
Is this mainly a statement piece or a practical footrest?
It does both jobs well. The design is eye-catching enough to stand on its own, but it is also built as a substantial footrest that can be used in everyday living spaces.
How much assembly is needed before it can be used?
Assembly is limited to the feet, so set-up is relatively straightforward once it arrives.
