Product Information

Vintage Sofa Company Chester Club 3 Seat Sofa in Moreland Harris Tweed Fabric with tan leather details, deep button tufting, scrolled arms and turned wood feet with castors

Description

The Chester Club 3 Seater Sofa combines the familiarity of classic Chesterfield styling with the texture and depth of Moreland Harris Tweed. Upholstered in authentic Harris Tweed and finished with tan leather scrolled arms, it has a richer and more layered look than a plain fabric sofa, while feeling softer and more relaxed than a full leather Chesterfield. The contrast between the woven tweed and smooth leather is what gives the design much of its character.

Deep buttoning runs across the back, seat and arms, giving the sofa the kind of visual rhythm that makes a Chesterfield feel established and substantial in a room. Brass stud detailing sharpens the outline of the leather sections, while turned wooden feet with castors complete the more traditional furniture look. Together, those details give the piece a formal shape, but the neutral tweed keeps it usable and easy to live with rather than overly heavy.

This is a sofa best suited to rooms where you want one piece to anchor the space. It works naturally in traditional interiors, country homes and period settings, but it can also bring warmth and permanence to more eclectic schemes where cleaner surrounding pieces need something with more depth and character. As a three seater, it has the scale for regular everyday use in a main lounge or sitting room, rather than reading as a purely decorative piece.

Made by Vintage Sofa Company, it also has the practical build quality buyers expect from a sofa at this level. A hardwood frame sits beneath the upholstery, the design is made for regular use, feet-only assembly keeps setup more straightforward, and the 10-year guarantee adds long-term reassurance.

FAQ's

What makes Moreland Harris Tweed a good upholstery choice for this sofa?

Moreland Harris Tweed gives the sofa a denser, more characterful finish than many flatter upholstery fabrics. It adds texture and heritage depth to the Chester Club, while keeping the overall look softer and more understated than a full leather Chesterfield.

Why are the arms finished in leather rather than tweed?

The tan leather scrolled arms help define the shape of the sofa and bring contrast to the tweed body. They also add durability in the areas that frame the piece most strongly, giving the design a more traditional and resolved finish.

Does the buttoning run across the whole sofa or just the back?

This design uses deep buttoning across the back, seat and arms, which is a key part of its Chesterfield identity. That fuller buttoned finish gives the sofa more depth, structure and visual consistency than versions with only a buttoned back.

Is this sofa better suited to formal rooms than relaxed family spaces?

It has a more formal appearance than a loose cushion sofa, but it is still intended for regular daily use. The three seater format and solid build make it suitable for main living spaces where comfort matters as much as appearance.

How do the castor feet affect the overall look of the sofa?

The turned feet with castors reinforce the traditional Chesterfield styling and give the base a more furniture-led finish. They help the sofa feel more elegant and established than a design with a plain block base.

Will the neutral tweed make this easier to style than a darker Chesterfield?

Yes. The Moreland tweed gives the sofa a softer and more adaptable palette than many darker leather Chesterfields. That makes it easier to place with natural woods, muted wall colours, traditional rugs and lighter upholstery around it.

What kind of room does this sofa suit best?

It works best in rooms where you want one substantial piece to anchor the space, such as a main sitting room, country-style living room or more formal lounge. It is especially effective where the surrounding scheme benefits from added texture and traditional detail.

How does this differ from a standard all-fabric three seater?

The difference comes from the material mix and the detailing. The combination of Harris Tweed, leather scrolled arms, deep buttoning, brass studs and castor feet gives it far more structure and heritage character than a simpler all-fabric sofa.
