Product Information
Description
Harris Tweed upholstery and a traditional wingback shape give the Tetrad Kenmure Chair a strong sense of British character without feeling overly formal. Upholstered in Basalt Herringbone fabric, the chair combines soft grey tones with a textured woven finish that adds depth and understated pattern to a room.
The high back and curved wings create a supportive, cocooning sit that works especially well in reading corners, lounges and quieter living spaces. Scroll arms soften the overall shape, while the turned wooden legs and brass castors add a more classic furniture feel that suits country homes, period interiors and layered contemporary schemes alike.
Unlike larger statement armchairs, the Kenmure has a more elegant footprint that still feels generous and comfortable. The herringbone weave introduces texture without overpowering surrounding furniture, making it easy to pair with leather sofas, natural woods, wool throws and muted neutral palettes.
Handcrafted in Britain using traditional upholstery techniques, the Kenmure Chair balances timeless styling with everyday comfort. The Basalt colourway gives it a versatile, grounded look that works beautifully in interiors built around warm greys, charcoal, taupe and earthy natural materials.

FAQ's
What style of room suits the Kenmure Chair best?
The Kenmure works particularly well in country homes, classic lounges, reading corners and interiors that mix traditional detailing with softer contemporary styling.
Does the Basalt Herringbone fabric feel heavily patterned?
No. The herringbone weave adds texture and depth rather than bold pattern, making it easy to coordinate with other fabrics and finishes.
Is this chair comfortable enough for long periods of sitting?
Yes. The high wingback, deep seat and supportive cushioning make it well suited to reading, relaxing and everyday use.
What makes Harris Tweed different from standard upholstery fabric?
Harris Tweed has a denser woven texture and a more characterful finish than flatter upholstery fabrics, giving the chair a more heritage-inspired appearance.
Would this chair work in a modern interior?
Yes. While the shape is traditional, the softer grey tones and understated herringbone pattern help it sit comfortably within contemporary spaces too.
Are the brass castors purely decorative?
The castors add traditional detail but also make the chair easier to reposition on suitable flooring surfaces.
What colours pair well with Basalt Herringbone?
Warm greys, charcoal, taupe, olive, deep navy, aged leather tones and natural wood finishes all complement the fabric particularly well.
Is the Kenmure Chair more formal or relaxed in appearance?
It strikes a balance between the two. The wingback shape gives it structure and presence, while the textured Harris Tweed keeps the overall look relaxed and inviting.
