Product Information
Description
Balanced in scale and rich in texture, the Balmoral Midi Sofa brings together woven Harris Tweed, smooth leather and traditional upholstery detailing in a way that feels established rather than overly formal. The Austin Cumin Seed fabric gives the sofa a softer, warmer character, while the Munro Check pattern introduces subtle structure across the cushions and seat backs.
Leather-wrapped arms and base panels frame the sofa with darker contrast, helping define the shape without making it feel heavy. Brass castors and turned wooden feet add a more traditional finishing detail, giving the piece the character of classic British upholstery while still working comfortably in updated interiors.
The midi proportions make this version especially useful for homes that want the visual presence of the Balmoral design without moving into oversized seating. It has enough scale for family living spaces and open-plan rooms, but still feels considered in medium-sized interiors where a grand sofa could dominate the layout.

FAQ's
How does the Midi size compare to the Grand Balmoral Sofa?
The Midi keeps the same layered Balmoral styling and generous comfort but in a more adaptable footprint. It suits medium-sized living rooms more comfortably while still giving the room a substantial focal point.
What gives Austin Cumin Seed its distinctive look?
Austin Cumin Seed has a warm, earthy tone that softens the structured shape of the sofa. It creates a relaxed country-house feel without appearing too rustic or heavily patterned.
Does the Munro Check pattern make the sofa feel traditional?
The check pattern adds heritage character, but the cleaner lines and balanced colour palette stop it feeling overly formal. It works equally well with classic interiors and more modern schemes that use natural textures and darker woods.
Why is leather used around the base and arms?
The leather detailing strengthens the outline of the sofa visually and adds contrast against the tweed upholstery. It also gives the Balmoral collection its signature layered material combination.
Is this sofa comfortable enough for everyday family use?
Yes, the deep seat cushions and supportive upholstery make it well suited to regular use. The Midi size works particularly well as a main family sofa without feeling oversized.
What kind of room suits this sofa best?
It works especially well in country-inspired interiors, period homes and relaxed formal living spaces with layered textures, soft lighting and natural materials.
Do the brass castors change the overall style of the sofa?
The brass castors add a subtle heritage furniture detail that gives the sofa more character and helps balance the tweed and leather combination with a more refined finish.
Does the Balmoral Midi Sofa feel more formal or relaxed?
It sits comfortably between the two. The buttoning, leather trim and castor feet give it structure, while the softer tweed upholstery and scatter cushions make it feel inviting and lived-in rather than rigidly formal.
