Product Information
Description
Foxington combines farmhouse-inspired detailing with a cleaner painted finish that feels bright, calm and easy to live with. The tongue and groove headboard introduces texture and depth without becoming overly decorative, while the natural oak top rail adds warmth that softens the painted frame beautifully.
Its 135cm double size works particularly well in bedrooms where floor space matters but comfort still needs to feel generous. The proportions give the room a more open feel than a larger king size frame, making it a strong option for guest rooms, period homes, smaller master bedrooms or interiors where a lighter visual footprint is important.
The contrast between the painted finish and oak accents also makes the bed more versatile stylistically. It sits comfortably alongside neutral linens, textured throws, painted bedside furniture and both traditional and contemporary interiors. Rather than dominating the room, the design helps create a calmer, more balanced bedroom setting.
A sprung slatted base adds everyday practicality by supporting airflow beneath the mattress while giving the bed a more supportive, responsive feel over time.

FAQ's
What style of bedroom does the Foxington bed suit best?
The painted finish and oak detailing work particularly well in modern country, farmhouse and relaxed contemporary bedrooms. It also suits lighter interiors where darker timber furniture may feel too heavy.
Does the painted finish make the bed feel bright in the room?
Yes. The softer painted frame helps reflect more light around the space, which can make smaller bedrooms feel calmer and more open compared with darker wood bed frames.
What effect does the oak top rail add to the design?
The natural oak top rail introduces warmth and contrast, preventing the painted finish from feeling flat or clinical. It gives the bed a more balanced, furniture-led appearance with added texture and character.
Is a 135cm double bed a good option for smaller bedrooms?
A 135cm double offers comfortable sleeping space while helping preserve more floor area around the bed. It is often a better fit for compact master bedrooms, guest rooms and older properties with narrower layouts.
Does the panelled headboard feel traditional?
The tongue and groove detailing gives a subtle country-inspired feel, but the simple lines and painted finish keep the overall design cleaner and less formal than more ornate traditional beds.
What colours and bedding styles work well with this bed?
Natural linens, soft greys, warm whites, muted greens and textured neutral fabrics all pair particularly well with the painted frame and oak detailing. The lighter finish also works well with layered seasonal bedding.
Does the footboard make the bed feel enclosed?
No. The footboard is relatively simple and open in appearance, so it helps frame the bed without making the overall design feel visually heavy within the room.
How does this compare with a full oak bed frame?
The painted finish creates a lighter, softer look overall, while the oak accents still retain some natural warmth and texture. A full oak bed tends to feel richer and more traditional, whereas this design feels fresher and more versatile.
