Product Information
Description
Natural grain is what gives this bedside table its character. The oak veneer brings warmth and variation to the surface, while the random knots stop it feeling too uniform or flat. That detail gives the piece a more relaxed, lived-in look, which works well in bedrooms that mix cleaner lines with softer, more natural finishes.
The black steel underframe changes the feel of the design. It lifts the table visually, adds contrast against the timber and keeps the overall look sharper than a fully wooden bedside cabinet. Paired with the matching black drawer handle, it gives the piece a more defined, contemporary edge without losing the warmth of the oak.
Its layout is straightforward and useful. The drawer gives you a place for smaller bedside items you would rather keep out of sight, while the open space beneath helps the table feel lighter and less boxy. With assembly limited to the feet, it is also simpler to get in place than fully flat-packed furniture.

FAQ's
What gives the Ashdown bedside table its modern rustic look?
The combination of oak veneer, visible grain, natural knots and a black steel underframe gives it that balance. The timber keeps it warm and characterful, while the metal structure makes the overall look cleaner and more contemporary.
Do the knots in the oak make each piece feel slightly different?
Yes, the random knots are part of the appeal. They add variation to the surface, so the bedside table has a more natural, less uniform appearance than a plainer veneered finish.
Is the drawer large enough for everyday bedside essentials?
Yes, it is designed for the smaller items you want nearby but out of sight. Things like chargers, notebooks, glasses or reading bits and pieces are exactly the kind of everyday storage it suits.
Does the black metal frame make it feel lighter than a full bedside cabinet?
Yes, the underframe lifts the body of the table and stops it feeling too solid. That gives it a more open look, which can work especially well in smaller bedrooms or next to bulkier beds.
Does the open space beneath the drawer change how the bedside table feels in the room?
Yes, the open underframe helps the piece feel lighter and less boxy than a full bedside cabinet. That can make a real difference in smaller bedrooms or beside a larger bed frame.
Is this more of a compact bedside table or a larger storage piece?
It is more compact and focused on essentials. The design is aimed at keeping the bedside area tidy and useful without taking up the visual space of a larger cabinet.
Does the drawer handle change the look of the piece much?
It does. The black handle ties in with the steel underframe, so the design feels more cohesive and intentional rather than just a timber box on legs.
What does assembly required for feet only mean here?
It means the main body of the bedside table is already built, with only the feet needing to be attached. That makes setup much more straightforward than furniture that arrives fully flat-packed.
