Product Information
Description
With its clean horizontal slats and gently angled back, the Kalamata Bench has a lighter feel than a solid garden seat, making it easy to place in smaller outdoor areas as well as more open spaces. The acacia wood brings warmth and visible grain, pairing well with brick, stone paving, gravel and leafy planting.
The open seat and back help water drain and air move through the frame after light rain, while the straightforward two-seater shape makes it a practical choice for morning coffee, a quiet reading spot or informal garden conversation. Its natural finish can be left to mellow with outdoor use or maintained with suitable wood care products to help preserve the tone.

FAQ's
Is the Kalamata Bench suitable for a small garden?
Yes. Its two-seater format works well where a full outdoor lounge set would feel too large, such as a courtyard, patio edge, balcony-style terrace or sheltered spot beside planting.
How does the slatted design help in UK weather?
The slatted seat and back allow rainwater to drain more easily than on a solid surface. This helps the bench dry more quickly after showers, though it should still be cared for properly through wet seasons.
Will the acacia wood change colour outside?
Yes, natural outdoor timber can mellow and develop a softer, weathered tone over time. Using suitable outdoor wood care can help slow this process and maintain the original warmth of the finish.
Should this bench be covered when not in use?
A breathable outdoor furniture cover is a good idea during long wet spells or over winter. It helps reduce moisture exposure while still allowing airflow around the wood.
Is it comfortable without a cushion?
The angled back and slatted seat make it practical for short sits and everyday garden use. For longer periods, a separate outdoor bench cushion can add extra comfort and soften the seat.
Where would this bench look best in a garden?
It works particularly well against brick walls, beside raised beds, under a pergola, near a doorway or as a quiet seat at the end of a path. The natural wood tone makes it easy to pair with traditional and contemporary planting.
Does the Kalamata Bench need assembly?
Yes, assembly is required. Once built, it provides a sturdy two-person bench for regular outdoor seating.
How should the bench be looked after through winter?
Clean off dirt and leaves, let the wood dry, then store it under cover or use a breathable furniture cover. Avoid leaving it sitting in pooled water or against constantly damp surfaces.
