Product Information
Description
Balanced rather than bulky, the Okayama Double Bed has a low, considered profile that lets the oak grain and headboard detailing do the work. The slatted headboard adds rhythm and shadow, while the softly rounded edges keep the frame from looking too sharp or severe.
The combination of oak, oak veneers and black metal gives the bed a more tailored feel than a standard wooden frame. It works particularly well with linen bedding, wool textures, neutral walls and simple bedside lighting, but the contrast feet also give it enough definition for a more contemporary scheme. For buyers wanting a double bed that feels calm, well made and easy to style, it offers a strong balance of warmth, structure and everyday practicality.

FAQ's
What makes the Okayama Double Bed different from a plain oak bed frame?
Its slatted headboard and black metal feet give it more definition than a simple timber frame. It still feels calm and pared back, but the detailing adds enough character to make the bed a clear focal point.
Is the Okayama Double Bed better for modern or traditional bedrooms?
It leans modern, but not stark. The oak finish softens the look, so it can work in contemporary bedrooms, Japandi schemes and more relaxed spaces with natural materials.
Will the slatted headboard dominate the room?
No. The headboard has visual texture, but the lines are narrow and controlled. It adds interest behind pillows without creating the heavy presence of a tall upholstered or panelled headboard.
What furniture pairs well with this bed?
It pairs well with oak bedside tables, black metal lighting, woven textures and simple storage pieces. Matching Okayama furniture will create the most coordinated look, but it can also sit comfortably with understated oak or painted furniture.
Is this a good bed for a calm, neutral bedroom?
Yes. The pale oak tone, clean frame and restrained contrast details make it very suitable for neutral bedrooms where the aim is warmth rather than decoration.
Does the black metal detail make the bed feel industrial?
Not strongly. The black feet add a modern edge, but the oak frame remains the dominant feature. The result is more refined and architectural than industrial.
What bedding colours suit the Okayama Double Bed?
White, ivory, oatmeal, soft grey, sage, muted blue and charcoal all work well. Textured linen or cotton bedding will suit the natural oak particularly well.
Is this bed a good anchor piece for the wider Okayama collection?
Yes. It carries the collection’s key design language through the slatted oak detailing, rounded edges and black metal contrast, so it works well as the main bedroom piece alongside matching storage.
